In memory and in honor of "Jack".
Jen and Greg Hughes ran the Maine Marathon on October 2, as a tribute to "Jack" their beloved 12 1/2 year old black lab who passed away in May of 2011. They contacted family and friends to sponsor them in the run and with their help, Jen and Greg presented the ARL with donations totaling $1,458.60.
We sincerely thank Jen and Greg, and their family and friends, in this loving tribute to a very special dog named "Jack". |

We extend a big
thank you to the Windham Walmart for including the
ARL in their Grand Re-Opening.
Along with the many scheduled events, the Windham
Walmart and Pepsi did a donation drive for the ARL.
Pepsi delivered
the donations. As you can see our storage room
was quite full when they left!
Thank you to Windham Walmart and their generous
customers!

Whole Foods Goodwill
From the Grill event May 28th was a huge success!
From the employees working the grill or running
supplies from the store, to the community support
we received, we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Not only did we adopt out three kittens to loving
homes, we raised an amazing $2,124.28!! Thank you
Whole Foods for yet again, demonstrating your commitment
to our community and the animals who live here.
Your generosity allowed our devoted supporters to
come together, enjoy fantastic food and raise money
to help animals! |
The
ARL has a new laundry center!
That
may not sound like a big deal to some, but when
you're doing over 250 pounds of laundry per day...it's
a BIG deal. |
On behalf of all
our staff, volunteers, and especially the animals,
we give these businesses our most heartfelt appreciation
for this gift for the donated labor, materials
and extreme patience given to us by:
Allied/Cook
Construction
Favreau Electric
Titan Mechanical
Nelson & Small

The staff and
animals of the ARL would like to extend our sincere
gratitude to Disability RMS and their employees.
They showed their love of animals during the month
of March by having bake sales, collecting bottles
for the ARL CLYNK account and of course putting
together the Taste of Westbrook!
All the hard work of the folks at Disability RMS,
the generosity of Westbrook restaurant owners,
along with the support of the community paid off
in a big way ~ over $2,700 was raised to help
the animals!
Thank you Disability
RMS - You're a wonderful example of the power
of community spirit! |

Portland
Dental Health cleaned....and cleaned....and
cleaned, for an entire day at the shelter. They
donated over $500 in dog toys; landscaped the
ARL grounds, and sent a plumber to help us do
some much needed work at the shelter. In preparation
for our 100th Anniversary, they also sifted through
and categorized ARL historical documents. |
