spayed female giant lop rabbit
The very first thing you notice about Izzy is her size - she's
a Giant Lop, and yes, she's big! Weighing in around a healthy 15
pounds, she can easily outweigh the family cat! With her long,
lop ears she is a striking gal whose photo does not do her justice.
Izzy came to us with, entropion, or inverted eyelids. Hers were
turned inside out, which is a painful condition that was corrected
by surgery. This causes her eyes to look bloodshot and gives her
a bullish look. While this condition is corrected and will
not return, we recommend that her new family take her in for yearly
check ups just to have the eyes examined and make sure they're
fine. Izzy is very possessive of her cage and does not like it
when we clean it or otherwise attempt to make adjustments to her
interior decorating. It's hers, and she will grunt and lunge to
make sure you know she does not appreciate the intrusion! Outside
her cage, however, Izzy is very friendly, hopping around our feet,
allowing visitors to pet her head, and enjoys exploring the room.
Because of her size, she will require a large cage and an environment
where she can spend many hours a day outside of it. Because of
her aggressive tendencies, she will not be placed in a home with
children under the age of 13. We don't know much about her past
other than the fact she was abandoned in an apartment, but we are
quite sure that she's waiting for the right home to make her future
safe, sunny, and bright, and hopefully some of her cage aggression
will melt away as she learns to trust the humans in her life. Are
you ready for such a challenge? Come in and meet our "Big
Bertha"!
