Animal IDs: 046988; 045187
Ages: 1.5 years -2 years
Breed: Spiny Mice

These poor little guys are back with us once again. Born in different litters to the same parents, they spent most of their young lives at ARL before being adopted. Their new home had to relocate and couldn't take them along, so these cute guys are looking for new digs to call home. Spiny mice are highly social animals, but these two brothers would rather live in individual cages.
Both mice are hand tamed, but must be handled every day in order for them to remain that way. Spinys can live 5-7 years and are the cleanest of the mice breeds. Since they keep their spaces clean, there is also no urine odor associated with an otherwise ordinary cleaning schedule. Spiny mice are prone to obesity, so they have a special diet and any cage or tank home will require lots of physical stimulation such as plastic wheels, tubes to climb, and boxes to chew. These are desert mice, so they like warmer, summer-type temperatures. Do you have space for one or both of these boys at your home? They are so deserving of a permanent home to live out their energetic lives!
