gray american rabbit
male
~2-3 years If you've visited
the Small Animal Room within the past 10 months, then you've likely met Gunner.
He's been the stunning solid gray rabbit sort-of tucked in the corner. After
hanging out with us for almost 10 months, he's now ready to bust out of the
shelter & find his forever home! Estimated at 2-3 years old, Gunner has
all the behaviors we associate with long-term shelter life. He's grumpy,
slightly depressed and extremely energetic. These behaviors will melt away
once he realizes that he's in a forever home and will be cherished in the
way he so deserves. He begs for out-of-cage exercise constantly! So lots
of play
time is a must.
Gunner's had time to improve on his litter box
skills but still has some ways to go. He loves
to dig and scratch; newspapers, phone books, and fabrics are favorite
toys of his. While he might do well as an only rabbit, it is recommended that
he be placed in a home with older, respectful children.
He's got an adventurous spirit and he's just aching
to spread his paws. As you meet and interact with him at the
shelter, it
is important to remember that he is really a diamond in the rough;
his life of the past year colors his overall personality and we
are quite certain that his true personality won't shine through
until he's been neutered & in a home environment. If you're
interested in this handsome boy, don't be afraid to ask questions
of the Small Animal Staff and volunteers. We truly believe that
Gunner is one of those who is a true jewel, waiting to be polished.
