profile Wynn is a gregarious Siberian Husky who arrived as an underweight stray with infected eyes. Her age is estimated to be about 3. Huskies in general are friendly and outgoing, and Wynn is no exception. She’s feeling lots better now, and has enthusiastically set about charming visitors, staff, and volunteers alike. Potential adopters need to know that no matter how wonderful home is, Huskies are free spirits and impressive escape artists who should never be allowed off-leash in unfenced areas. Blind obedience is not in their dictionary, but they will be delighted to share their life with you on their terms. They have a sense of humor, and it helps if their humans have one too. They tend not to be barkers, but they “talk” and occasionally howl. They will chase small animals with intent to harm, so a home with cats will not be considered. Twice a year they shed, and shed, and shed. They are enthusiastic diggers who do very well when their wise owners provide a place for them to dig to their hearts’ content. Wynn has been beautifully polite and well-mannered with everyone here, including other dogs. She passed her temperament test with room to spare: she was quiet when left alone, settled into a crate when given a few minutes to do so, and was not protective of food, toys, or rawhides. As canine activity levels go, hers will be easy to live with, but she’ll still have plenty of energy to accompany a jogger or hiker. Come in to meet congenial Wynn and see if you and she are a match.
