profile Update: 8/19/09 Bowdean has been a busy guy since being surrendered. He spent three
weeks being fostered at Camp Bow Wow, where he had the pleasure of meeting
and romping about with his new canine friends. Now back at the shelter,
Bowdean has a special friend in a volunteer who takes him on multiple
outings per week. One of his favorite places to go is the beach, where
he enjoys swimming and is quite the social butterfly and befriends every
dog he meets. While Bowdean is staying active here, he really needs to
move on to his forever home where he will never have to deal with stressful
shelter life again. Won't you consider making Bowdean a part of your
family? Goofy Bowdean is a one year old Bluetick Hound that originally came to ARL as a stray and was adopted out to a loving home. Unfortunately, Bowdean’s family moved and their new landlord didn’t allow dogs, so he’s back for another stay at the shelter. A typical hound dog, Bowdean is good natured, energetic, and loves to follow his nose! He also enjoys car rides, playing tug-o-war, and going for swims. He has lived with dogs in the past and has good social skills when playing with his friends. Bowdean can be rowdy when he plays and has a tendency to plow through kids, so we recommend he live with kids ages 5 and up. Because hound dogs have a strong instinct to chase small animals, he will not be placed in a home with cats. Bowdean, who is housetrained, would do best in a home that enjoys outdoor activities and will provide mental and physical enrichment for this glass-is-half-full kind of guy. Hound dogs often follow their nose, no matter where it leads, so his new owners will need a fenced in yard or be committed to keeping him on leash when he’s outdoors. If the melodious honking of hound dogs is music to your ears, come on down for a serenade from Bowdean today! download adopter survey donate to help the animals |
