4/21/10 - update from Isis' foster
home:
Isis'
foster mom reports Isis is doing wonderfully. She is now fully house trained,
her play with other dogs is outstanding, she doesn't bother the cats,
and she did fantastic in the bathtub. This lucky little girl has been
attending doggy daycare on a regular basis which is helping her gain confidence
with people, as she continues to socialize with many canine friends. She
is still quite fearful of new people and unexpected, fast movements. We
feel a home with children over 10 years of age would be a good choice
for Isis. Her foster mom's goal is to continue working on socializing
and confidence building by bringing Isis to as many pet-friendly places
as possible to expose her to new people and surroundings. If you're interested
in meeting Isis, please call the shelter and ask to speak with someone
on the kennel staff. You will be asked to fill out an application before
an introduction is arranged.
Isis is a beautiful, young pit bull surrendered to the shelter because
her owner was unsure how to handle her interesting personality traits.
Isis sometimes comes across as being very confident, especially when meeting
new dogs, and other times you can see much fear in her eyes, such as when
she meets new people. Once she knows she can trust a person, she's happy,
bouncy, and playful. Isis will only be placed in with family that possesses
positive dog handling experience. If potential owners have a resident
dog, their dog must be extremely well socialized and able to live comfortably
with Isis. In her previous home, Isis successfully lived with a cat. This
little pup has much potential and in the right hands may flourish into
a happy, social adult. If you enjoy working with dogs and have been waiting
for someone like Isis, stop by for a visit today.
