It is amazing to see an animal who has spent most of its life in residential mayhem – multiple homes, multiple cats – overcome its environment and retain a deep love of people and other animals. Dion is such a cool cat. While he may have been neglected at his other home, he arrived at the shelter willing to make everyone his friend. A bit disoriented as his family moved, Dion hid in the basement and was not discovered until new tenants arrived about a week later. Apparently his owners thought he had run away and did not search for him. With their other responsibilities and the knowledge that he is FIV positive, they decided to surrender him to the shelter. He is a bit overweight with the most dazzling green eyes, When you come over to his cage he begins to make biscuits and rolls over in delight. Although he has lived with cats, dogs and children, he seems perfectly content to accept life on any terms. He may be a bit shy at the beginning, but within a day or two he will snuggle, purr and even play with a toy.
