What a big, beautiful boy! And he’s a Meet Your Match® Green Leader of the Band, a confident, affectionate, demonstrative cat. Walker’s coat is a combination tiger/swirled marmalade pattern, and his demeanor is dignified and noble. He came in from Limerick as a stray, and not much else is known, with the exception that somewhere along the way he contracted Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), the feline equivalent of HIV in humans. It is very important to understand that FIV is in NO way transmittable to humans. It is, however, transmittable to other cats, through bite wounds, mainly. Walker’s home would have to be either kitty-free, or occupied by another, fabulous, loving cat with FIV and the stripes to walk tall with this boy. During his assessment here, Walker came to the front of his cage to greet his assessor with a big meow. In the assessment room, Walker exited his carrier immediately, investigated the room, and checked in with the assessor many, many times. He made constant eye contact, circled in pleasure, and played with both a cat charmer and a feather wand. He loved his hug, purring all the way through the test. “This is a very sweet, loveable cat,” the assessor wrote, and Walker surely is. Because he has FIV, he will need to remain an indoor cat. The cat staff will be happy to share their knowledge and answer any questions regarding Walker and FIV in cats in general. Because he’s a special needs cat, his fee will be waived. Do give this Aslan-like guy a break and think about taking him home. The forever family that decides to do this will be getting a jewel of an animal who will love you with all of his generous, royal heart.
