Maximillian (Max for short) could probably
give potential adopters a tour of the shelter. He’s been here
since January 2008, as a matter of fact. His goal is to split this
freezer pop stand before frigid weather once again smacks Maine
up the side of the head. Max came in with another cat, both of whom
were surrendered by an owner who owned too many felines. This means
that Max is used to other cats and would probably be open to another
feline in his new home if his cat mate is relaxed, secure, and welcoming.
Last spring, Max was quarantined for possible ringworm. He’s
been judged sound now, and would love, yes love, to go home. He’s
been assessed as a Meet Your Match® Purple Private Investigator,
a detective-like feline who prowls behinds sofas and chairs, scopes
out closets and establishes headquarters under big, square beds.
When they have figured out where their safe place is, they will
come out to play with their trusted forever family, and maybe an
honored guest or two. During his assessment, way back in January,
Max seemed more interested in investigating the room than in interacting
with the assessor. His shyness may have been a result of the ‘squeaky
wheel’ syndrome in his former multi-cat home (i.e., the louder
the cat, the more the attention). He enjoyed the stroking portion
of the test, a lot. He proved sensitive in his tail area, which
nixes a home with high traffic or young kid. Max will be placed
in a laid-back, abode with a special place in it just for him. We
hope you will let him be the squeaky wheel for once and give him
the attention his quiet heart deserves.
