When considering cats here at the shelter, don’t
forget to visit the multi-cat room, where kitties who can
share space hang out and wait for callers to come and visit
them. This is where you will find Jasper, a gray-brown
and white tiger cat who soaks up the strokes from volunteers
and likes to sit on the windowsill. He’s been around
way too long; first because when he was surrendered in
August of 2008 (!), he had to be quarantined for six months
because of a bite wound and the potential repercussions
of that. Finally pronounced healthy, Jasper was then adopted,
but returned after two weeks because he developed urinary
tract infections. His owner also noted that Jasper seemed
shy and withdrawn, which is to be expected of a cat who
sat in quarantine for such a long period of time. Before
all of this, Jasper lived in a home teeming with all kinds
of creatures of all different ages, where he was deemed, “Adorable
and sweet.” He was tested here for his feline-ality
type in February of this year, and he proved talkative
and curious, may be playful when comfortable, loved being
stroked, and is not sensitive. He was assessed as a Meet
Your Match® Orange Personal Assistant, which indicates
a love of his humans and all that they represent to him.
He has also proved that he can reside with mellow cats.
Since he does tend toward UTIs, Jasper may do well in a
quieter domicile. Wherever he ends up, patience and lots
of affection will be important to his success. Sounds like
a perfect formula for a lifetime of loving from this great
guy!
