Chicklet, a female Pearl Cockatiel, and Scooby, a male gray Cockatiel, are charming and chatty! Scooby loves to tweet back at you if you whistle to him and Chicklet chimes in occassionally. Scooby loves listening to you whistle at him in different tunes and pitches and attempts to echo it back to you. Watch him come to the front of the cage as he cocks his head trying to take it all in. Chicklet tends to monitor all this from the back of her cage, but taking in her beauty should be enough for this diva! Don’t let them fool you, they do know "step-up" but rarely do it. Practice makes perfect! We feed all our birds Harrisons Pellets with a mixture of Sunshine factor which satisfies all their nutritional needs but these guys sure do love their millet spray! (Use it as a treat only and not as a source of food.) Every bird needs multiple widths of dowels/perches so their feet don’t conform to a one size grip. Teflon, aerosol sprays, bleach and candles, among other things are toxic to birds. The average life span of a cockatiel is 15 years so know that you'll be taking on a long-term commitment with these two.
